Governance Hub Africa

Governance Hub Africa is a Nairobi-based regional platform working on democratic governance across the 55 member states of the African Union. It operates at the intersection of elections, digital innovation, policy advisory, and institutional reform — treating these not as separate domains but as interconnected elements of a governance system.

Programmatic work spans civic empowerment, electoral integrity, digital democracy, and governance monitoring. Recent activity includes engagement with Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and policy work on digital governance frameworks. The organisation positions itself as non-partisan and evidence-driven, working with both state institutions and civil society actors.

In the Democracy Landscape's terms, Governance Hub Africa falls in the "governance system design and accountability" category — not a deliberative practitioner, but an institutional actor working on the structural conditions that make democratic governance possible and accountable. Its pan-African scope (55 countries) fills a scale gap in the current landscape: most African entries to date are country-specific, and a continent-wide governance platform adds breadth that single-country entries cannot provide.
